DAILY REPORT (04/09/2017)

Hello guys.. Welcome back to my blog.. This week we are back in the kitchen again. Today we were making pie dough and sugar dough. But before we're practice, one of my friend told his story about his singing competition in Ambon 2 weeks ago. After his told a story, we started to made pie dough and sugar dough. It was quite interested but made us nervous about the result. Actually this is the basic of the pastry. But even though this is basic, we must made the perfect one. If we didn't get the perfect pie dough and sugar dough, we would running 8 times. And that made us nervous and worked under pressure. But I think it's ok because our chef want to see us success in the future.

Before me and Gietha (my partner) started making pie dough and sugar dough. Both of us watching the tutorial how to make pie crust first. Cause we have to so careful about our step. We won't run anymore. After we watched it, we started to prepare the ingredient.


After the ingredients was ready, we combined dry ingredient with egg and mixed it with fork, we won't using our hand because it would make the ingredient warm and it's not good for pie crust. And you chill your ingredient before you mixed it. After that, add the butter and mixed it using pastry blender, but if you don't have pastry blender, you can use a fork. Mixed it until crumbling (sand texture). You don't have to mixed it until well. If the dough can combine just like wet sand in the beach, you know that the dough is ready. Rest it for 1 hour in the refrigerator.


Take out the dough from the refrigerator and start to roll them. Mould it into pie ring. Use a fork to make a hole in the bottom to avoid the dough swell. That's not enough, you have to use pie weights too. But before that, rest it first in the refrigerator about 30 minutes - 1 hour. Then bake it under 180 degrees.

Tomorrow we'll make the filling and sell it.

Praise the Lord that our pie wasn't failed. So me and Gietha didn't running 8 times. I was so happy. And my heart didn't beating fast again because our product was success. I hope I can do better in the future.
